About the Program

 

The Onsite Internship Program at Genomac Institute is a prestigious opportunity for aspiring researchers, life science students, and bioinformatics enthusiasts to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge multi-omics research on infectious diseases.

 

This program is designed to immerse participants in practical and theoretical aspects of advanced research, focusing on Vibrio cholerae and other pathogens that are significant to public health in Nigeria and globally.

 

Through this internship, you will have the unique opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team of experienced researchers, bioinformaticians, and genomic scientists. You will contribute to groundbreaking projects in genomics, bioinformatics, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), therapeutic peptide development, and more, while also building the critical skills needed to excel in modern scientific research and, offering career advancement opportunities, co-authorship in high-impact publications, mentorship for academic scholarships, and a pathway to leadership in infectious disease research and therapeutic development.

Key Roles and Responsibilities for Interns
  • Conduct genomic and bioinformatics analyses, including AMR studies, genome assembly, and variant analysis.

  • Collaborate with experts, Scholars, and Fellows on groundbreaking multi-omics research projects.

  • Contribute to therapeutic peptide discovery using machine learning and experimental validation.

  • Document findings, prepare reports, and co-author publications in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Attend training sessions, develop skills in bioinformatics tools, and participate in capacity-building programs.

  • Adhere to ethical research practices and maintain data integrity.

Requirements/Who Should Apply?
